After Probably Uncalled For brought word of plans by some podunk state board in New Jersey this past Wednesday night, on Friday, news broke that Consumer Affairs Director David Szuchman has rejected the proposal, and has ordered the state's Cosmetology and Hairstyling Board to re-examine the issue, saying "Many commenters have noted that the procedure can be safely performed. I therefore believe that there are alternate means to address any public health issues identified by the board."
In addition, Szuchman told the board to begin "an immediate review of the training necessary to safely provide this service, and to establish appropriate protocols and safeguards."
